In the Bible it says NO ONE will know the timing of the end of the world. What makes people think it’s in 2012?

I’m thinking it is high time I cash in and write a book or something, and 2012 has pretty much been done to death already. Maybe I’ll just make something up entirely, that seems to work too.
MAAAAANNNN! Im really mad! My b day is Nov. 9 and the election day is Nov 6 in 2012! Im gonna be 17 on Nov 6 and THREE days later im gonna turn 18!! Do you know if there is like a policy that says something like ” if you will be 18 a week or sooner after election day, you can still vote” ?
I am utterly surprised at the number of individuals who are buying into this Hollywood-fabricated myth that the world is going to end in 2012. What is really scary is that most people don’t seem to be able differentiate what they see on TV, or in the movies from actual reality. Wake up, and use the brains you were given. The rest of us are growing weary over your “Chicken Little” assumptions that have no scientific basis at all.
I just watched the movie 2012 and was wondering if it will be the same exact events from the movie that will happen on the date?
Like Earthquakes, Tsunamis, Crustal Displacement, Volcanoes erupting etc?
After seeing previews for the movie 2012 I wondered if it’s possible the world would end?
I just watched a show on the History Channel (I think) about the 2012 Doomsday predictions. I had never even heard of such a prediction outside of the Bible, but the show did list several sources for the reasoning behind the demise of the Earth around that time.
I am most interested in the Scientific basis for the theory. It stated in that program that in the year 2012 that the Earth and Sun will be at the center of the Milky Way, and will cross over the universe’s “equator” and, this change will force the Earth to change the magnetic polarity of our North and South Poles. (North pole will register South, and visa versa). This monumental change would create widespread havock on our planet. Causing worldwide mass extinctions, volcano’s, and earthquakes. (They stated that the planet has in fact changed its magnetic polarity before, 800 million years ago).
It was an eye opening program to watch. Any thoughts?!
Did you know that on 12/21/2012 the sun, the earth, and the black hole in the middle of the galaxy will all be in alignment. Some people believe that once that happens there will be a gravitational reinforcement effect and we’ll get sucked into the sun. In fact the president of my organization has issued a fatwa against anybody who doesn’t believe in 2012.
Hypothetically, if Obama fails and our Country’s problems worsen…
Why do some Republicans think that would be a win for the 2012 Republican candidate? Why are the Republicans so sure that America will elect their party back into power and not the Libertarian or Independent party or any other political party?
