2012 Predictions

December 21, 2012 marks the end of the Mayan Calendar and by now, I’m sure you’ve heard all the rumors about what will occur on that fateful day - End Of The World Predictions

The world will end on December 21, 2012
There will be a shift in the Earth’s magnetic field, reversing the polarity of the planet, causing tsunamis, earthquakes and other devestating acts of nature
A giant comet will strike the Earth with such force that anyone left living will be flung from the planet or drowned in the horrendous tsunami that follows
Aliens will return and take over the planet
There will be major metaphysical changes allowing each of us to rise to a new level of consciousness

But what are we to believe?

Some of these rumors are coming from fear mongers, those who want us to believe the worst possible scenarios so we’ll rush out and buy up all the bottled water and batteries and build expensive bomb shelters in our backyards.

Some of them come from archeologists and theologists who’ve spent their entire lives researching ancient Mayan practices and passages from the Bible.

And some of these rumors come from the scientific community, astrologists and geologists who have predicted and studied the effects of planetary alignments and calculated, with some accuracy, dates and distances and times.

Let’s take a look at some of the more popular predictions for 2012:

The World Will End On December 21, 2012

This is, of course, the most debated rumor of all. Will the world end? Or will it be life as we know it? Will it be at precisely 11:11:00 on December 21? Or will it be December 23, as some astronomers have predicted? At least one other researcher has predicted that life altering events will occur on October 23, 2011. Or has this devastating event already passed, back in 1997, and we missed it?

Throughout history people have predicted that the end is near. The end is coming. The end is HERE! Yet, these dates always come and go with nary a ripple in our consciousness. So, why is everyone giving so much more weight to the prediction this time around and why December 21, 2012?

The Ancient Mayan civilization had an obsession with timekeeping and they were incredibly precise. There calendar was even more accurate, down to thousandths of seconds, than our own. And because of this accuracy and precision, the fact that their calendar does not extend past December 21, 2012 carries a lot of weight in both religious and scientific communities.

There will be a shift in the Earth’s magnetic field

This rumor is also said to be validated by the Mayan Calendar and has been a topic of debate in the scientific and astrological communities.

According to the Ancient Mayans and modern day astrologists and scientists, there will be a major alignment of the Earth, the Sun and the Center of the Milky Way during the Winter Solstice which will occur on December 21, 2012.

Scientists predict that this alignment will have a major effect on the Earth’s gravitational center, forcing it out of it’s current alignment and causing rotation of the crust around the core.

If and when this were to happen, this would have devastating effects on the surface of the planet. Ice caps would instantly be shifted to warmer areas and melt, causing flooding of major portions of the planet. Shifting would cause Earthquakes along all major and minor fault lines, and tsunamis in the oceans. Volcanic activity would erupt all over the planet.

This alignment only happens once every 25,800 years and geological research shows that major atmospheric and environmental changes have occured each time this alignment took place in our planet’s history.

A Giant Comet Will Strike The Earth

Those who study the predictions of Nostradamus quote several quatrains dealing with the inevitability of a giant comet striking the earth with such force as to nearly wipe out all civilization.

There will appear towards the

Seven stars of Ursa Minor and Polaris

Not far from Cancer;

The Bearded Star

Susa, Siena, Boeotia, Great Rome

will die, the night having vanished

And another of his quatrains predicts:

The Great Mountain, one mile

in circumference, after peace,

war, famine, flooding,…

It will spread far, drowning

antiquities and their mighty
foundations.

Nostradamus’ predictions also seem to dovetail with several Biblical verses from The Book Of Revelations:

“Then the third angel sounded:

And a great star fell from Heaven,

burning like a torch, and it fell

upon a third of the rivers and

on the springs of water”

and the name of the star is

called Wormwood; and a third

of the waters became as Worm-

wood; and many men died from

the water because it was made

bitter.”

Aliens Will Return And Take Over The Planet

This rumor, supported by archeologists and some theologians, comes from a variety of sources. The most notable, but not sole, source of substantiation being, again, the Mayan Calendar and it’s prediction of extraterrestrial visitors. Combine that with various interpretations of Bible Code and verses and Nostradamus’ predictions and it appears quite possible that in 2012 the Earth may be host to any number of alien visitors.

No one really knows what the Mayans meant by their end-of-the-world prediction for December 21, 2012. But there are researchers who predict that we will be in big trouble and that advanced extraterrestrial civilizations will eventually come to the aid of our planet.

In fact, there are rumors in many countries all over the world, that governments are already being contacted by these ETs and processes and programs are already being put into place to gradually announce their existence to the people of the world in order to avoid panic at this revelation.

There Will Be Major Metaphysical Changes In Our Environment

Again, no one can know for sure exactly what the Mayans had in mind for the end of life as we know it. Does this mean we will just cease to exist? Will our planet simply disappear in a puff of smoke? Spirituality

Or will, as some researchers suggest, our lives and lifestyles simply change or evolve? Perhaps the earth shattering events predicted by the Ancient Mayans merely means that life as we know it will no longer be. But this doesn’t necessarily mean it will end.

The Mayans’ beliefs were cyclical. They believed that things happened in cycles. And that the end of one cycle simply meant the beginning of another.

From the moment the first molecule of life appeared on the planet, civilization has been evolving. It’s a scientific fact that all species on the planet have adapted, or evolved, throughout the millenia, in order to survive.

Some researchers believe that the Mayans predicted a shift in our metaphysical capabilities. They believe that change will involve a higher level of consciousness, increased levels of spirituality, and perhaps even total world peace.

Are You Prepared?

Those are just a few of the rumors and theories being presented by everyone from world class researchers to accredited theologians. But, in truth, no one can predict the future with total accuracy.

The only thing we know for sure is that the Mayans, who spent 1000 years researching their calendar, were uncannily accurate in some of the predictions they made. Nostradamus, who spent most of his life in meditation, has been proven time and time again to have seen the future. The Bible, certainly, has always been cited as God’s plan for humanity.

Surely, something WILL happen on December 21, 2012. You may wake up that morning and find you’ve won the lottery. And life as you’ve known it, will be over because now you are wealthy.

You may come home from work that day and find your house has burned to the ground. And life as you’ve known it will be over because now you have to find a new place to live.

You may trip over the wadded up welcome mat as you step out for the paper and life as you’ve known it will be over because your badly twisted knee will bother you for the rest of your life.

Any little thing could happen on December 21, 2012 that will alter your future in some way. In fact, everything that happens every day alters your future.
