If so why are people still going to college and saving money? Any scientific proof of this? (from NASA maybe?)

I really getting sick of people saying the world is gonna end in 2012. If anything is gonna happen the internet will stop working and people will go crazy, and until it is fixed this will be our “end of the world” IMO.
How is it even possible for us to find an asteroid that is out of our orbit and scheduled for a chance in 2029 or 2036… but the thing about 2012 cannot be found? I know that nancy leider made up planet X and sitchin made up Nibiru… but who knows or how is it possible?
I was watching this years summer Olympics and got thinking about all the questions on here about the end of times coming in 2012. So I was wandering how many people realized we would manage to squeeze in one more Olympics before the end. Is it coincidence that it is happening in England?
The Mayan calendar is supposed to ‘end’ on December 21, 2012, and we are all supposed to go through a global catastrophe. Why do people think the human race will die because a calendar ends? I mean, my calendar ends and nothing happens except the need for a new one.
