What About The Decoding Of The Bible Saying An Asteroid Was Going To Hit Earth In 2012?

This would fall into place with the Mayan’s and ancient Chinese calendars saying the end was on Dec 21st 2012. Someone please ease my nerves here LOL

The term Asteroid was not coined until 1802 by William Herschel, after 1 Ceres and 2 Pallas had been discovered, so quite how anyone living prior to that date could predict anything concerning asteroids that had neither been discovered nor conceptualised to exist in their day, rather eludes me!
This is historical illiteracy, akin to clocks striking in the play Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare (set in 45 BC and earlier). Which involves ascribing knowledge and information only avaiiable in the modern era to long-dead generations and civilisations.
It follows that any documents so fundamentally flawed as to engage in such historical illiteracy cannot be taken seriously in their assertions and predictions.
Oh, and by the way, similar considerations indicate that the Ancients could not possibly have known that Pope Gregory XIII was going to invent a Gregorian Calendar in 1582 and that the day that will now be known as December 21st 2012 is really more like December 7th 2012 on the old Julian Calendar, so all the predictions are a fortnight out, anyway!
The world is not going to end. Yes there may be a catastrophic event that wipes out human life but the earth will still be here, along after we are gone. The earth has been here for about 4 billion years and will be here for about 4 billion more before the sun grows into a red giant and engulfs the first 4 most inner planets.
The asteroid that may hit the earth in 2036 is real and there is nothing we can do to stop it, if it is on a collisioin course.
Exactly which book, chapter, and verse states an asteroid (which the writers of the Bible knew nothing about) would hit the Earth in 2012? And since the ancients didn’t have our modern calendar, how would they have known which year?
The Mayan calendar itself ends in 2012 – the Mayans didn’t say the world would end then (that is all just misinterpretation – the Mayans left no written records).
If an asteroid was going to hit us in 4 years, scientists all over the world would already know about it (and while a single nation’s government might be able to suppress the information in their own country, they can’t control the entire world).
The only known asteroid threat to Earth is 99942 Apophis (with a 1 in 45,000 chance it will hit us in 2036).
According to a show I just saw on the History Channel, there is a 1 in 20,000 chance, on any given day, that the earth will be hit by an asteroid large enough to do considerable damage. So it might happen before 2012. Consider the chances of winning a large lottery are alot greater than the chances of getting hit……….hmmm – food for thought. Guess that doesn’t ease your nerves much.
All researchers are saying is that it is curious that different people, in different times, in different places all predicted the end (or just stopped the calender) on the very specific date of December 21, 2012. These prophets had a very good track record.
These prophecies would seem far fetched…if we hadn’t have found the science to prove it.
Every 13,000 years the sun and the stars align causing a change in the Earth’s poles. The equator used to be where Alaska is. This in turn causes a magnetic pull. Well this would probably cause massive earthquakes and destructive tsunamis. Scientists say that even if this event were expanded over a period of days…it would still wipe out many species.
Life is short. No one can say for sure what the end of time is. Like I said…It is curious that all predicted an end with fire, and the alignment of the stars, and a final battle of religion.
All I can say is I hope people are open to interpretation. We shouldn’t be ignorant or we will cause our own destruction. But we can do nothing about magnetic forces…We are all going to die, sorry if that’s news to anyone. But somethings we do have control of. But when the Earth is ready to start all over again with a new cycle…well…that’s not up to us. We just need to enjoy the simple gift of existence. And accept what we cannot change.
Neither the Mayan nor the Chinese calendar makes any predictions about the end of the world in 2012, by asteroid or by any other means. The authors of the Bible did not know what asteroids or planets were. How could they have predicted an asteroid hitting this planet?
The Mayan and Chinese calendars do not say anything about any asteroid and do not name any end of the world date. Neither does the Bible, no matter how much “decoding” you do.
The Mayan Long Count calendar reaches the end of a cycle on 21st December 2012. Anything you may read about Bible Codes, the Chinese calendar, I Ching and Nostradamus in connection with this date has been contrived by fraudsters.
Idiot!
It’s all nonsense
Argh.
