What Do You Guys Think About The World Ending In 2012?

Me and my friend were watching Knowing and we wanted to know if you guys thought that the world would really end in 2012. My friend is really scared to die. What do you think?

The Media has really just overblown the entire 2012 thing, namely the history channel. Granted many astrological things are said to happen that year, but no one knows for sure if they will, or what effect it will have on earth (i seriously cannot stress this point enough).
Many different cultures believe that the world experience GREAT CHANGE – basic a shift in the collective concience that will bring with it great change / enlightenment (not the end of life itself ) on December 21, 2012. The Mayans, Oricales of Ancient Greece, A Native American Shamen (medicine man), along with Nostrodoumus, and Edgar Cayce (better known as The Sleeping Prophet), along with the debated Bible Code (a secret code that is said to be found in the Torah), and web prediction (a precdiction system based on the collective concience of the world by what they post on the internet).
What you have to understand is that back in there time (Greece, Nick, and the Mayans, at least) is that they were a culture that survived around astrology. They knew the heavens like the back of their hands so to speak. And they knew that every once every 26,000 years, the sun, from the earth’s current perspective, rises exactly with the center of the milky way galaxy. This is called the Galactic Alignment. Scientists tend to think that ice ages follow this phenomenon, but it is very unclear what effect it will have on earth, if any.
This is also the day (supposedly) that the earth will complete it’s current wobble, which also takes exactly 26,000 yrears for earth to complete. So, astrologically speaking, earth can only view this event every 52,000 years.
This is also around the time that the sun will be in this peak with its sunspots., called a solar maxium which happens every 11 years. Not to mention Jupiter and Satern will also aligen.
Another thing that is concerning people is a polar shift, secluded to happen at or around the same time. A polar shift is when our North and south poles reverse (north is south, south is north). This will devastate our communication and satellites. But nothing is ever clock work, and it many not happen for centuries.
No doubt it is a year for the heavens at least.
Anyway, regardless, no one can know when the earth will end. Most likely Edgar had heard about 2012, and that came out as a result (not concencously of course, as he made all his predictions and such while ‘sleeping’.
Even the bible code does not say that the earth will end that year. mostly (from what i’ve read and heard) it talks a a comet that can aliniate earth, but the God will destroy it, or something like that… The point is : you more more likely to die in a car accident than a end of days thing.
And the web predictions is the worst of them all. Since it makes its predictions based on what we all post on the internet it is utterly tinted by the rumors of 2012 and as we get clser and more and more people assoc. this year with the end of life, the web predicter will also make such a predticiton.
If you are Christian than 2012 should not concern you in the least, as you would proabably worry more about the Rapture than a comos attack persay. And when the rapture happen, you would still have at least seven years left to earth. Since that has obviously not happen yet, i would not worry about it.
Me personally i do not believe there will be an end to the world in 2012. Earth and its inhabitants will still be around for 2013. No person knows the moment, day, or time of our distrustion. So why worry about it, espeically if you already know where you will go in the afterlife?
Anyway i hope that with the basics for what i have told you, you will go out and explore more of these things if you feel it nessasary or if you are just curious about them. they are the Galactic Alignment, The Polar Shift,, Earth Wobble, Aligenment of Jupiter and Saturn, and Solar Maximus..most of which i provided links for. Everyone needs to accept that the world will not end during their lifetime, as the odds are really against that. Just man’s arrogance thinking he is so important that the world must revolve around him and his religions. Most of the current ideas regarding 2012 are based on the mayan calendar, but no one ever bothers to note that there well could be a simple reason why the calendar quits at 2012— the stone was filled up and there may have been another stone that goes on another 2000 yrs. Or they just got bored and quit projecting future dates. If this culture was so great, and prophecies so real, why didn’t they predict their own demise as a civilization? They didn’t and that should be proof enough that these guys scratching marks on rocks didn’t really know a lot about what they were predicting.
When I was little and became scared of things like the end of the world, my grandmother used to tell me not to worry. The world can’t end today, because it’s already tomorrow on the other side. Actually, the world won’t end. Civilization may end, but the world itself has been here long before people and will be here long after we are all gone.
The world was supposed to end with Y2K. I do not think the world itself will end, but human civilization on the world will end, but I do not think this will happen for many centuries to come. We try to kill ourselves everyday when we create weapons of mass destruction and pollute our earth, but the world will kill us off before it lets us make it end.
If it’s going to happen, it’ll happen to everyone. So there is no fear.
If it happens, there’ll be no pain. It’ll just be like a magnetic pull and
then everyone will be gone and the earth will be silenced.
I think that if it happens, i’ll be ready. There’s always the 50%possibility
it won’t hapen, because things like this have frightened people and
made them believe things before, that haven’t come true. some have,
other haven’t. I guess we must wait and see.
2012 IS A FAKE IT’S WHAT MEXICAN INDIANS BELIEVED THE END OF THE WORLD WOULD BE THERE CALENDAR HAD TO STOP SOME YEAR LIKE IF YOU WERE TO PREDICT THE WORLD WOULD END 2078 WOULD IT REALLY NO ITS JUST THERE GUESS NO ONE KNOWS WHEN THE END IS HERE
Is just bad hoax, only naive and gullible people believe nonsense have no real basis, is just lies and errors, every few years of history frauds invent doomsday hoaxes, all are wrong, no one can really make such a prediction.
no one knows with 100% accuracy when the world will “end” so i dont think its possible to make that assumption based on a silly movie…..
only god can decide that..if u have full faith in god and love him and trust him with all ur heart, then u should have no fear in dying. u will be with god in heaven..

there were many predictions that the world would end. All of them were false. You really want to believe this one?
