2012 is actually when I start getting to drive and I don’t want to die when I first learn to drive!!!! That’s unfair!!!! What is the real, true, completely honest answer to 2012?

The Mayan Calendar makes NO doomsday CLAIMS because 2012 is merely the end of a cycle. For the ancient Maya it was a huge celebration to make it to the end of a whole cycle. To render December 21, 2012, as a doomsday or moment of cosmic shifting is a complete fabrication and a chance for a lot of people to cash in.
People who promote 2012 are doing so to sell books and advertising on their doomsday shows. After each “predicted” doomsday passes with nothing happening there is a new one invented. I have watched the 2012 Doomsday program on the History (Hysteria) Channel. The content isn’t about any real 2012 event happening and it isn’t about history. It is about selling books and selling advertising on the TV programs.
There is no scientific theory that anything unusual is going to happen in 2012. ZERO scientists believe that anything out of the ordinary will happen in 2012. It is all total CRAP. These people are interested in one thing – MONEY. And by listening to their programs and/or buying their books you provide them with – MONEY. The more MONEY they make the more twists and turns they invent to make it more interesting so you will listen to new TV programs so they can make even MORE MONEY.
If you had hogwash to sell wouldn’t you try and package it so looked like prime rib? That is just what these shysters are doing… selling to those who will listen – HOGWASH. Drink deep!!! They need MORE MONEY. They need YOUR MONEY.
By the way… 2012 isn’t the first Doomsday prediction. Here is a link to other Doomsday predictions from the past and present… THERE HAVE BEEN THOUSANDS OF DOOMSDAY PREDICTIONS… and none have come true.http://www.abhota.info/end6.htm
End of the world in 2012 is a cultic ideology which is likely to produce, if not mass suicides, then at least individual suicides. The world is full of looney people who will commit suicide in order to avoid the terrible, frightening and catastrophic “end of the world” predicted by Mayan mythology and other mumbo-jumbo of people who walked naked through the forrests and brought human sacrifices to their gods (and, as the good cannibals which they were, ate the flesh of their victims).
I saw on TV a documentary about the cults built arround the 2012 theme. It showed people sparring candles in order to avoid the falling of darkness on Judgment Day, people who keep in their houses inflatable boats in order to avoid the coming global flood, people who pay amounts starting from Euro 50 000 in order to be allowed to stay on an African mountain, which a self-proclaimed guru and doomsday prophet said it won’t be covered by waters during the coming global flood.
This is nothing new to me, since I already knew a weird fellow who predicted that the Third Reich will take over European Union in 2007 (our discussion took place in 2006), and who was sparing motorine in order to be able to drive his car after the Third Reich takes over and imposes the nationalization of oil and gasoline.
Main reason for this rumour is:
1. The ancient Mayan Civilization’s Calender ends in 2012. This calender has never made any mistakes……
2.In 2012 solar maximus occurs. It occurs in 11-12 years but this time it’s special. After 10,000 years this maximus is occuring which can cause climate change because 10,000 years ago something like that happened.
3. Some planet or meteor is hitting the earth which seems dangerous.
4.Albert Einstein once said : “If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe then man would only have four years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man.” And according to surveys bees colony is decreasing.
AND etc.etc
But personally i don’t think that world’s gonna end. Because in 2012 i am gonna complete my bachelor degree. And my real life starts after that. I don’t wanna waste my life just by studying.
LOL start driving from now then
Personally i don’t believe that the world is gonna be hit by meteor or Planet x or what ever it is, but something will happen and the peak is on 2012. Just look around there is madness everywhere, disaster, war?, famine, new diseases? don’t tell me we had survive that, so we can survive this also.. that’s an ignorance statement, ancient people are stronger, they have longer age then us, you possibly think we can survive what they did? you are kidding yourself then.
Learn to drive carefully, then.
Watch your mirrors, wear your seatbelt, turn on your lights to be more noticeable…. and don’t listen to crazy people that think 2012 is doomsday. Like that loon that thinks that the Mayan calendar predicts an end of the world… no, it doesn’t. It does say that by an odd coincidence the end of this Long Count (there have been a dozen, we are still here) will be on the winter solstice. Interesting… but that’s about it.
there will be a Solar Maximum in 2011-13. The rest is just a lie. It’s not “special” and there is ZERO evidence that every 10,000 years anything unusual happens… makes NO sense, either.
Meteors happen all the time… nothing unusual. An asteroid will make a close approach in 2027 and another in 2029, that will return in 2036, but NOTHING in 2012.
Albert Einstein died in 1955… yet, that saying was attributed to him NO EARLIER THAN 1990. So, unless the DEAD are walking the Earth… besides… its less than 4 years until 2012 and there are still bees.
Don’t panic… the only people spreading these lies have a grade school understanding of science. Ask your teachers.
Hmm… So far people talked about 2012 being the end of the world, but no one ever mentioned why. Now we know.
Seems like you’re going to be one hell of a bad driver, if you can cause the entire world to end!
(btw, if you seriously asked the question, there is no end of the world this time, just like there wasn’t any end of the world the last million times those people claimed there would be)
try not to lose any sleep over it, i have lived through 40 of these end of the world predictions, every year they come out with them.
i can only hope they get this one right my 401k went to hell with this economy, and that was my retirement plan, the end of the world is my back up.
