Who Here Actually Believes The World Will End In 2012?

It’s just a joke in my opinion… The video of 2012 on Youtube is also just a made-up thing…
But who here actually believes this?

No one I have ever met.
One of several Mayan calendars is the Long Count calendar, which is reset to day 0 every 1,872,000 days or 7057.5 years. The next reset date, by some calculations, is December 21, 2012. This is not a prediction of the end of the world.
These predictions are scare tactics, conspiracy theories, and chances to make money from books and movies.
Ever since the Y2K and 6/6/6 (June 6, 2006) End of the World scenarios did not pan out, the scare mongers, conspiracy theorists, book sellers, and television executives have been touting the 2012 End of the World scenario. When 2012 does not happen either, I am sure they will think of something else.
“But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come.” (Mark 13:32-33)
Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.
The early Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.
The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus’ advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.
Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everything happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time.

With love in Christ.
This is 100% bunk. Everything these people say is a lie. The Hysteria Channel just puts it on to fill time.
The planets will not align in 2012 any more than they do any other years and even when some of them more or less did back in the early 1950s nobody noticed anything.
The Earth, Sun and the centre of the galaxy will not line up any more than usual either. The closest they get is about 6 degrees off and it happens twice every year. There is no physical effect that could happen either since the gravity effect of the centre of the galaxy is too weak out this far.
We will not be crossing the central plane of the galaxy. We do not know exactly where that is to within a short distance but we passed the region about 3 million years ago and are heading away from it. There is no physical effect that could happen either since the gravity effect of the centre of the galaxy is too weak out this far.
These lies are based on the Mayan long count of days, which ends about the northern summer solstice of 2012. The people who actually translated the Mayan inscriptions say that the Mayans made no prediction about this.
One prediction was invented several years ago by Jose Arguelles, who is a typical New Age scribbler. He just predicted something big, possibly because 2012 roughly fits in with the start of the astrological age of Aquarius.
This wasn’t scary enough for the people who wanted to sell disaster survival books and videos so they started inventing nonsense about the end of the world. About half of what they say is left over from 1999 – 2000. Nostradamus, I Ching, Revelation, Bible codes and all that garbage.
The stuff about Planet X is equally fake. It was invented about 1994 by Nancy Lieder who said it would damage the Earth in mid 2003. When it did not turn up she had nothing to scare people with and so transferred her fake planet to 2012 to fit the faked Mayan prophecies.
Likewise Nibiru is fake, it was invented more than 35 years ago by Zecharia Sitchin who faked translations of Mesopotamian cuneiform tablets. He said planet Nibiru would be here in 2085 and he still says that.
But the 2012 frauds have stolen his fake planet and rolled in together with Nancy Lieder’s fake planet. Two fake planets do not make a real one.
On the solar system live site you can put in any date you like and it will show you where the planets will be.

Y2.012K – the Mayan Bug
Well since our calendar is based on the Julian Calendar, and the Mayan Calendar was written long before, there’s little chance that 2012 could be a realistic date for the Mayans even if that’s what they intended.
I personally believe that the world will end precisely on the day that it ends, which is the day after the day before the world ends!
People are freaking out because the Mayan Calender stops on that date, but it does not say anywhere that the world will be destroyed on the date. It might just mean the calender starts back to the beginning like how we get new ones each year. I could be completely wrong but that is what i have read.
& I do not believe the world will end 2012
Oh fer chrissake!!!
If you think it’s just a joke, then WHY did you post the question?
I think weightloss programs, colon cleaners and penis enhancements are jokes, too, but I don’t run around here asking people what they think of them. I don’t CARE what people think about them. I already KNOW that people who buy into this crap are complete idiots without 2 rational brain cells in their heads. And I think the same of 2012 proponents, as well.
But even if I did, at least MY question would be rarely asked.
Yours, OTOH, gets asked by morons every 5 minutes on here.
Give it a REST.
It is a joke and the world will not end on/in 2012! It may be the Rapture and the beginning of the end.
The Lord will get here when he gets here! You or I can’t rush him.
God bless!
I’m Ash Ketchum…
I’m going to be a Pokemon Master!!!
P.S No I don’t think the world will end…
I wonder if anyone does believe that, did they also get nervous with the whole Y2K thing.
Remember when the comps where supposed to crash and the world would be in chaos, in the turn of this century?
Its nonsense, the end of a man-made calendar is the end of a man-made calendar, not the end of the world.
A = A
The same who believed it would end in 2000 and in many other previous cases.
The idiots who prepared for ever fake Apocalypse.
The world actually ended last year. We just haven’t received the email yet. You know how bad Yahoo mail is.
Since the Bible is clear that ONLY God knows, it is obvious that this is nothing.
Not me. The fact that they refuse to give me their personal belongings is proof they don’t really believe it either.
My cat calender ends 31st December
Only ALLAH will know when the world will end….
Peace
Not I… but I do believe there will be some great parties immediately preceeding the predicted dates… lol
Not me
WE have over 10 billion more years to go!
no one will know the day or time
I dont because I think its stupid
not me. that day will come and go…people will laugh about it.
It’s not a ‘joke’, they Mayans DID predict it.
However, I don’t believe anyone can know for sure, and I certainly don’t believe it will end.
