Why Are So Many People On The Internet So Obsessed About The 2012 Event?

In my opinion, I think that the 2012 event is B.S. For years, people have thought that the world was going to end: why are we still
here? Why are conspiracy theorists trying to scare people into believing this paranoia?
I think that conspiracy theorists are biased and speculative.

Take a deep breath and enjoy life. The world is NOT going to end in 2012. This kind of people have been telling the same to every single generation.
Money…
First:They scare the sh** out of everyone few years before the event..
they then make”documentary films” about it and not debunking it so the people will get even MOAR/MORE scared…
Second:Once they see everyone is sh**ing their pants off at hearing 2012…they’ll start “Operation Harvest”
they then start to sell “Surviving 2012″ Shi**ys…Which cost $95(find some websites not debunking 2012 and you’ll see it -.-)…
anyway since some people are phobiatic(there are some in a generation) they will fall for it..thereby making their friends fall for it..and then Everyone ETC ETC except for the ones who have a Brain(like everyone here who replied “2012 IS BS”….
anyway there
I think it’s some peoples boring humdrum lives, especially those of limited intelligence and unbounded gullibility.
Q/A is full of people asking about their horoscopes, mediums, ouija boards, homoeopathy, 2012, acupuncture, dreams, psychics etc. we are still getting questions like “did America really land on the moon? the list is almost endless.
I invariably answer them for amusement (the only category I do this for) and usually add Randi’s $1,000,000 challenge, I’ve been doing this ever since I joined and don’t know of anyone who has even thought about taking it up.
The Barnum effect rules OK!
I do think that the humanity and our planet will “see” Year 2013
It’s not the first time that an “end of the world” alert exists
(one of the first ones was about Year 1000)
(one of the last ones was about a collision between Earth and a spatial object in 1999)
Don’t worry, Be happy
Because the promoters of this hoax want a lot of money, so they disguise their “research” to appear to be valid. Not a lot of internet users bother with fact checking, so the hoax propagates.
No.
When I was young (it was a long time ago, but it really happened), there was a little sign in my father’s workshop that read:
“Cows may come and cows may go but the real BULL in this place stays forever.”
I didn’t know what that meant, until I started getting exposed to assorted doomsday scenarios, over a dozen that I can recall in my lifetime.
Truth here:http://www.2012hoax.org
There were other doomsdays scheduled for other dates before 2009, too, you know. After 2012, they will say, “Oh well, blah blah divine excuse, there will be another on 2020, BE THERE BE SQUARRRRREEEEEmmmm.”
They are appealing to fears… how pathetic.
they are wrong. more wronger than anyone ive ever seen i think they are the wrongerest people around . i cant figure out why they are so wrongeresting about a date. the true date is the 9th day of the first week of the 14th month of the years 1999 and 2087
wow, you are the very definition of iconoclaster aren’t you? (someone who destroys others beliefs with ridicule). let people believe it if they want, if you don’t believe it just ignore it and life goes on!
2012 happens to be the election cycle for the american Presidency. A Republican will be elected to office and end the world as we know it.
Vote Democrat
Because if 2012 is real then that would mean that all the internet servers are gonna be gone and they won’t have a medium to express their anxiety?
What “event?” The calendar ended. That’s all that happened.
Because they are idiots.
Because they are easily effected by what others thing and say. Oh! And by the press of course.
