Does anyone know why the aztec calander ends in the year 2012? Is that the end of human race?

Why does the odometer in your car end at 100,000 miles?
Oh, wait… it doesn’t.
Neither does the Mayan (no Aztec… that’s like all those people attributing the Large Hadron Collider to the Swedes) calendar, which will just roll over in dec ‘12 and start again.
It has ZERO pertinence and ZERO consequences.
the mayan calendar also ends in 2012. a lot of people say its going to be the end of the world and a lot of people say its a hoax. its neither actually. the world wont end, earth will still exist but we won’t be here. on december 21, 2012 the earth will be in the center of the milky way galaxy. near the center of the MW galaxy is a black hole. the black hole wont suck the earth in, but it will alter the polar alignment causing the equator to run more north and south. and thats when the tsunamis, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, etc ensue.
its not a coincidence the mayan calendar ends on 12/21/12. they were brilliant timekeepers and expert astrologists and could predict eclipses thousands of years into the future so they had to have known that the earth would be in the center of the galaxy on this date.
dont take my word for it. look up nostradamus, the oracle at rome, the oracle at delphi, the book of revelations, merlin, christianity, judaism, islam and any other estimation of when the world will end and it all points to the same year.
The Mesoamerican calendars were mostly circular in nature. Our calendar is the same way apart from our year count.
After Saturday, does the world end? No, another Sunday follows and a new week begins, with all of the days named the same as all previous weeks.
Does the world end on December 31st? No, yet another January 1st starts again the next day.
The Mayan calendar will start over in 2012, just as our days, weeks, and months start over and repeat themselves all the time.
Note that the Mayan had two dating systems. One was ritual, the other was political. The political calendar is not circular, and it does not end in 2012.
Oh, nearly everyone knows they didn’t calculate their calendar further than 2012.
And a LOT of morons believe the scam artists that wrote a stupid book saying that it means the world is ending. Why, I don’t know. Some people will believe anything, as long as it’s completely ridiculous.
Of course it’s not the end of the human race.
They had series of cycles in their calendar; 2012 ends the largest cycle.
“Doom Tints” is right. The Long Count calende doesn’t end. It is cyclical. How does a cyclical anything reach an end?
It merely reaches a “round figure” in December of 2012. Much like ours did on January 1, 2000.
There were no intellectual property laws in those days so the Aztecs just copied theirs from the Mayans (breach of copyright) and the Mayan calendar does not end, it just begins a new cycle. End of story.
Most likely you’re thinking of the Mayan calendar, because it had to end sometime.
It doesn’t, the Mayan calendar does…
The stone wasn’t any bigger!
End of the Human Race? No such luck…
cuz god will fly and we will die
ask a mexican and why does every one relate mayans to azetcs god it is annoying
They ran out of room.
